Meet Alex
A self-confessed stove nerd.
Alex started South West Fireplaces in 2010 and has fitted over 500 stoves since. He's a HETAS engineer who knows flues, back boilers and twin wall systems inside out, and if a stove exists, he'll know of it.
We don't stock appliances, so we shop around for the best price on yours at trade rates, with no extra fee. Then our small team builds it in house, like it's our own home.

Questions
Before you book.
How long does it take?+
We can usually fit within a week or two of your survey. At the survey we'll tell you exactly how long your install will take, as it depends on how much work your fireplace needs.
Are you HETAS registered?+
Yes. Every stove is fitted by a HETAS qualified engineer, and when it's done you get a HETAS certificate, so you're fully covered under building regulations.
Is it messy?+
We treat every home like our own. What customers mention most is how polite and tidy the team are, and we leave everything clean when we're finished.
Can I have one with no chimney?+
Often, yes. We design and fit twin wall flue systems for homes without a chimney. We'll check what's possible at your free survey.
How much does it cost?+
It depends on the stove, the materials and how much work your fireplace needs. Fully fitted installs start from £2,500, and we match quality materials to your budget.
Can I put a TV above the fireplace?+
We don't advise it, as the heat above a stove can damage a TV. If that's the setup you really want, an oak beam across the chimney breast reduces the heat reaching it. We'll talk you through it.
Can I see stoves first?+
Yes. Our showroom in Wedmore has working stoves and fireplaces on display, by appointment. Open Monday to Friday 9–5 and Saturday 10–1.
